In 1848 the distillery received the "Royal Warrant" from Queen Victoria, which later added the word "Royal" to the name. The distillery is relatively small by Scottish standards. As a result, Royal Lochnagar single malts are rather rare. Royal Lochnagar 12 years matured in oak casks the entire time. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV.
