Description
An airy red pinot fruit nose nuanced by a lovely mix of game
this may be the most under rated wine in the de Montille portfolio with its ripe
Both the 2010 and the 2009 continue to blow me away every time I taste them
and touches of glycerine and graphite that are well-defined but persistently broody
hail and bombe d'acqua
de Montille, Corton Clos Roi Vintage:2017 An airy red pinot fruitHere the nose is more deeply pitched with notes of earth, game, smoke and underbrush adding interest to the briar and red berry fruit aromas that lead to serious, brooding and reserved big bodied flavors that are underpinned by firm but not aggressive tannins and excellent length. There is slightly more depth here than in the Pougets though its less fine as well. A stylistic choice. (91 93) 2017+
