This handmade bowl with lid is shaped and glazed by hand before being fired in the Japanese raku tradition. During the firing, the bowl is heated to around 900C, removed from the kiln red hot, and cooled rapidly, creating the characteristic crackles in the glaze. When it is then immersed in sawdust, the deep color shifts and
